Basic Crochet Hat Pattern

HDC: Half Double Crochet

Materials :Worsted Weight Yarn Hook :G Scissors

Round 1: Chain 4. Join with a slip stitch to form a ring. Chain 2, 11 HDC in ring. Join with a slip stitch to beginning chain two. The beginning chain two counts as one HDC throughout. You should have twelve half double crochets.

Round 2: Chain 2, HDC in beginning chain two of last round. Work two HDC in each stitch around. Join. You should have twenty-four HDC at the end of this round.

Round 3: Chain 2, HDC in same space. *HDC in next stitch. 2 HDC in next stitch around. Join.

Round 4: Chain 2 and HDC in same space.. * HDC in next two stitches. HDC in next 3 sttiches2 HDC in next stitch around. Join.

Round 5 Chain 2 and HDC in each stitch around. Join.

Round 6: Chain2 , HDC in same space. * HDC in next 3 stitches., 2 HDC in next stitch around. Join.

Round 7: Chain 2, HDC in back loops only around. Join.

Rounds 8-14: Repeat round 5.

BRIM: Round 15: Chain 2, HDC in same space. * HDC in next two stitches, two HDCiun next stitch around. Join.(80 stitches)

Round 16-20 : Repeat round 5. Fasten off.
